Meet Goliath...

That's what I named the new edition to my wardrobe. I have a huge weakness for wood/metal accessories. So when I saw the Stella McCartney fall/winter 08 collection I was enraptured. I seriously stalked these beauties everyday until they were somewhat feasible. Even then I waited for some miracle coupon to pop up and then a 20% off one arrived in my email. I new they were destined to be mine! I haven't bought brand new shoes in ages. I find amazing pairs for less then 10 dollars. So what prompted me to dish out such huge cash on these? Well I really fell in love with the design. I mean wood, metal on a sleek ankle boot wedge!!!

It kind of has a Ayami Kojima Castlevania/Amano Vampire Hunter D feel that I love.

It's not such a mainstream design that lower end brands will copy. In the end it just fits my style :)

Symposium on Yves Saint Laurent, Eternal Style at the De Young Museum

Such an eventful November so far lets start with the 1^st. My sweetheart Paulo took me to the YSL exhibit at the De Young Museum for my birthday. The lecture included Vogue's Hamish Bowles, Florence Müller and Farid Chenoune. Each gave a lecture on different stages of Yves Saint Laurent work. There is so much about him that I didn't know. I regrettably missed the introduction by John Buchanan and Pierre Bergé. It was pouring rain with no parking in sight! I was excited to hear that a book signing was to take place. My lovely purchased the book for me and off I went to meet these fabulous people. The book signing was populated by the likes of Tatiana Sorokko, Betty Catroux and Dodie Rosenkrans. It was an incredible honor to meet the three speakers and attain their autograph. The exhibition was fantastic! I never new how varied and groundbreaking Yves Saint Laurent was. These clothes truly belong in a museum. They are such masterful works. This was by far the most memorable birthday gift. Thank you so much Paulo, I love you!

Early 20's

Alice Dellal, Model/Socialite

This wild child has been a absolute treat to watch. I know her normal attire of leather jacket, bandage dress and Doc's is reminiscent of my teens. But I can help to love her. She does the early 90's so well with European influence. That cascading tumble of blond curls with a half shaved head is genius and only works on her. She is like Neil Gaiman's delirium come to life, most certainly one to watch.

Late 20's

Taylor Tomasi, Senior market Editor teen Vogue

I first saw her sporting a Elizabeth and James blazer with slashes of Ann Demeulemeester skirt and black Phi boots. Her use of black with white soft accents evokes a refreshing sense of style that has me hooked.

30's

Kate Lanphear,Style Director, US Elle

Her evocative use of neutrals sends a chill down my spine. I was floored when I first saw the famous Garance Doré photo. She looks hypnotically alluring, it was love at first site! She is my absolute favorite of the moment.

40's

Anna dello Russo, creative director of Vogue Nippon

She was introduced to me by the multiple postings on The Sartorialist. I was first in awe of her astounding physique in mile high stilettos. Then I saw this dynamic editorial which she modeled and styled. I was hooked! She is a muse and a style icon, and someone I would aspire to be in the future.

Mid 40's

Daphne Guinness, Heiress

To tell you the truth I had no idea who Daphne Guinness was until one night I was doing a ebay search on Alexander Mcqueen. I came across all these auctions stating her name. After looking at these incredible listings I soon indulged in some research. Daphne Guinness is indeed a rare fantastical creature. I was quickly enamored by her fearless sense of style. If you can afford to wear couture then by all mean take notes from her. She could easily be a character in some epic space opera like Blade Runner. I'm so delighted there is a Daphne Guinness in this world.

Ageless Treat

A unexpected treat arrived via mail today. Imagine my surprise as this luxurious jar fell before my eyes. My brilliant best friend sent me this gift from his salon. It is "Ageless Creme Luxe Hair Treatment" by Frederic Fekkai. It contains Rare Orchid extract and Regenerating protein's to turn my lifeless creature like hair new again. I literally cannot wait to wash my hair tonight. I love you Michael Rhyan!

Gold Fiction

My friend was buying some products at the Chanel counter last weekend and I found myself with time to kill. So I headed over to the nail polish and tried out the new FACETTES D’OR Nail Colour in Gold Fiction. I'm super picky about metallic polish but this one was superb. So after a long day of ebay auctions, I felt bratty and entitled to a treat. At 30.00 a bottle it definitely is a indulgence. But we all deserve some spoiling right? Well I guess I'm pretty spoiled cause I grabbed Kaleidoscope too.
